Launching of Operation clean Borno State
The Borno State Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, has launched a series of initiatives to enhance environmental sanitation in the state. This includes the establishment of a designated dumping site in the Jajirir Community of Bolori II Ward in Maiduguri, constructed by the UNDP and donated to the Borno State Government. These efforts are part of the "Operation Keep Borno State Clean" initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental cleanliness.

The Commissioner of Environment, Arc Yarima Saleh, and the General Manager of BOSEPA, Abubakar Suleiman, led the supervision of the sanitation exercise in Maiduguri. The exercise, scheduled for the first Saturday of every month, includes participation from various officials and volunteers. The Commissioner praised the sanitation vanguards and volunteers for their efforts and instructed shops and markets to comply with sanitation laws, either by cleaning on Friday or before the exercise begins. The General Manager of BOSEPA, Abubakar Suleiman, commended the sanitation committee, security agents, and the media for their contributions and urged business owners to close their establishments during the exercise, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The sanitation efforts covered multiple areas in Maiduguri, including the post office roundabout, Wulari area, Bulumkutu area, and several others. Participants included officials from various agencies and advisors on the environment.
